Sponsored by: Donna Pope Battle of the Books began is a program for middle school students, grades 6-8. Students at participating schools read books from a list established by the state Battle of the Books committees and then compete in quiz-bowl-style tournaments to test their knowledge of these books. Science Pirates- JGMS Science Enrichment Club Sponsored by: Science Teachers Want to know more about BIOLOGY, CHEMISTRY or PHYSICS? Then this is the club for you! Students will meet with science teachers and other community professionals to investigate various S.T.E.A.M topics. When: Club Members will meet Wednesdays starting November 1st. Teachers will pick up from the cafeteria after school. Meetings will run from 2:30 to 3:30. Cost : $20 per a student for the 2019-2020 school year and is non-refundable. Funding will cover cost of materials and supplies for meetings. Pick-up Policy: Students will be picked up at 3:45 in the front of the school. Please be prompt as student’s being habitually picked up late may result in the need to terminate their being able to remain in the club. Club Policies: Your child may be dismissed from the club if they have excessive behavioral issues that distract from the meetings. Students must obey all Science Safety Rules (refer to p.12-13 of the student planner). No refunds will be given if your student is dropped from the club due to behavioral issues, failure to follow safety rules, or habitually late pick up. Spanish Club Sponsored by: Marisol Denney The Spanish Club welcomes all students that are interested in learning and exploring the cultures of Spanish speaking countries. You will participate in a variety of arts and crafts, games, films, music, dance, cooking as well as in the end-of-the-year Multi-Cultural Assembly.
