The Cumberland County Board of Education recently approved the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 schools calendars for those who attend Traditional schools, Year-Round schools, Early College high schools, and Cumberland Polytechnic High School.

Jack Britt MascotOn February 23, 2017, our 8th grade students will take a field trip to Jack Britt High School.  The purpose of this trip is to attend an orientation about their freshman year of high school and tour the campus.

The buses will leave from John Griffin Middle School at approximately 8:30 a.m. with all three 8th grade teams. In accordance with Cumberland County Schools policy, students must turn-in a completed field trip permission form signed by their parent or guardian to their homeroom teacher (see link below). The students and staff at Jack Britt High School will facilitate the orientation and the campus tour.

 ***This is only for parents that have not attended previously (2016-2017 school year).

Spring Sports Tryouts:
Girls Softball:  Tuesday, 21 February 20172:30 pm – Coach Kenworthy
Boys Baseball: Tuesday, 21 February 20172:30 pm – Coach Adams
Boys Track: Tuesday, 21 February 20172:30 pm – Coach Jabbour & Coach Combs
Girls Soccer: Tuesday, 21 February 20172:30 pm – Coach Irvine
Athletes must be academically eligible, have a current sports physical, conclusion statement, and participation/eligibility form on file before he or she can stay after school for try-outs.  Sports physical cannot expire during sport season.
**Parents must have attended or must attend sports briefing to include concussion video.
Blank forms are available in the front office or on the school’s web-site under “Athletics.”

John Griffin Middle School Teacher Snatches the Title
