Schools Closed GraphicAs a result of the of PWC water main issues, it is necessary for
schools to be closed for students on Monday, January 8, 2018. The
issues impact the availability of water, food preparation and heat.
The day will be an optional workday for employees. Primetime will be CLOSED on January 8, 2018. 

All after school activities are cancelled.

Schools should resume a regular schedule on Tuesday.

1935-2017

Dr. Griffin was an outstanding educator who served Cumberland County for over 30 years. His service included but was not limited to his work as a teacher, an Administrator and ultimately served Cumberland County Schools as the first African American superintendent within the County.  John Griffin Middle School was named in honor of Dr. Griffin.

His influence was immeasurable and his legacy will not soon be forgotten. We will remember Dr. Griffin for his inspiration and achievement.

Schools will start at their regular time on Wednesday, January 3, 2018; however, because of expected inclement weather conditions, the Cumberland County School system will release two hours early tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday, January 3).
Afternoon Prime Time will operate for two hours after dismissal.

JGMS Student Athletes of the Month/ December

Beginning during the 2017-2018 John Griffin Middle School, will be recognizing outstanding Student athletes. Each month, our athletic department selects a male amd female student that displays exemplary attributes both academcally and athletically.
Each recipient receives a plaque courtesy of Crown Tropy.
For the month of December 2017 the Athletes selected are:
Male:   Alex F. – Basketball  and Female:  Zahara G. – Basketball.

Due to inclement weather conditions, the Cumberland County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

Unless otherwise announced, the Central Services staff, principals and 12-month personnel will observe a normal work schedule.

Morning Prime Time will not be available. Afternoon Prime Time will observe their normal schedule.

No breakfast will be served.
